The James Bond Files ~
Edward Biddulph

James Bond Avalanche

In January 2023, on his radio program Flashback, which aired online over the internet radio station KSAV, Wesley Britton kicked off a “James Bond Avalanche” to celebrate the 70 years of Agent 007. Featured were several authors, actors, behind-the-scenes folks, and fans of the world of James Bond.

The series continued into June, 2023, with an interview (originally broadcast in August 2022) with Edward Biddulph, author of Double-O Dining: A James Bond Cookbook (2022).

Ever heard of a James Bond cookbook?

It exists – in fact, Edward Biddulph is quite an expert on James Bond. Noticing the many James bond cocktail books, he also saw there were no James Bond cookbooks and decided he would write one. And being a Bond fan, he took every culinary dish mentioned in every film.

Don’t be surprised if you’re hungry after the podcast.

The interview is available as a podcast on Wesley Britton’s podcast Remember When. To listen, click the link below.

The book contains over 100 easy-to-follow recipes that draw on vintage cookbooks, old newspaper food columns, and other historical sources to allow you to recreate and experience the flavours enjoyed by Bond.

With a menu ranging from simple classics to food that represents the height of indulgence and sophistication, the cookbook contains recipes with a modern twist to suit all tastes.

About Edward Biddulph ~

My name is Biddulph, Edward Biddulph, and I’ve been a James Bond fan for a very long time. My earliest memory of James Bond is watching Goldfinger on the television when I was a nipper (aged 6 or 7, maybe). I graduated to the books aged about 11 or 12 (I still have the first copies I read on my bookshelf – Book Club editions of The Spy Who Loved Me and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service) and I’ve been a devoted fan of the books and the films ever since.

As for my favourite Bond actor, I know it sounds like a cop-out, but I like them all. All the actors have brought something new and exciting to the role. That said, I have a soft spot for Roger Moore, and Daniel Craig is awesome. What about my favourite film? That’’ easy – On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. It’s faithful to Fleming and still looks epic.
