Spies on Television & Radio ~
Spy Girls at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia
Convention
By Wesley Britton
At this year’s Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention, held in September
2022 in Hunt Valley, Maryland, Wes and Grace Britton had the opportunity to
hob-nob with a wide range of celebrities.
For example, Loretta Swit of M*A*S*H fame was fascinated by
my wife’s blouse at the autograph table!
“Where did you get that?” Loretta wanted to know.
“Boscov’s,” Grace replied, realizing Loretta had
never heard of the discount store. Grace considered trading her top for an
autograph, until she realized their sizes were just too dissimilar.
For spy fans, my highlight was meeting Linda Thorson, star of The
Avengers from 1968 to 1969. “She has aged very well,”
my wife observed. (See for yourself at the attached photo). Linda was very
personable and happy to talk with fans like myself, and I hope to feature her
soon on Flashback, my online radio show! Stay tuned!
Speaking of spy ladies, I also had the chance to chat with Nancy Kovacs
and Linda Gaye Scott, who were there mainly for Batman fans
as both had appeared in the Adam West TV show.
But, in separate episodes in 1965 and 1966, both Nancy and Linda also
appeared in The Man From U.N.C.L.E.. (Sadly, neither had
MFU photos to autograph.)
As it happens, there are very few MFU veterans still around,
so it was a serious privilege to meet those TV sirens in 2022!
With luck, both ladies will also guest on a future edition of
Flashback – again, stay tuned!

celebrities of classic film and television, a movie room, presentations and panels,

charity auction and a Saturday night dinner.

16 and 17.
